The Mass Island Symphony Orchestra (MISO)
Our long-term performers, orchestra staffs, and contractual performers jointly make our melodies and rhythms come true. While the size and the name list of our orchestra may vary from time to time, our orchestra ordinarily consists of about 40 professional performers, plus a few supporting staffs. They work under the following divisions:
- Conductor;
- Strings: first violins, second violins, violas, cellos, and contrabasses;
- Woodwind Instruments: flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons, saxophones.
- Brass Instruments: Horns, trumpets, trombones, tuba.
- Timpani/Percussion;
- Piano/Harp/Celeste/other aux.
- Miscellaneous: programmers, guitars, ethnic instruments, and more;
- Support Division: stage managers, gaffers, videographers, audio engineers, and more.
Our orchestra performers are also capable of forming small bands and ensembles, which adds flexibility and mobility to our live music business, allowing concerts and musical events to be held in a wide range of venues and occasions.
Our orchestra staffs are highly professional in concert services and musical instrument transport. We are capable of safely and punctually transporting the orchestra along with all the equipment and gears to anywhere within 250 miles from Boston, MA.
